Hi! My name is Katie and I teach 1st Grade STEM in Chicago.

I have been teaching in Chicago for 14 years! I am Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood Education and have worked hard each day to meet the needs of each student in my classroom!

I am a huge advocate for Daily 5 that teaches students independence and provides them with a immediate understanding of their own responsibilities for their own learning.

I attended the University of Illinois- Chicago which focuses on an urban mission – to bring equitable education to the underserved population of the city. I took this mission to heart and ever since I have strived to provide the highest levels of education to my students.

I have received $30,000+ in donations for my classroom, participated in multiple grant studies, but most of all I LOVE teaching! I hope you enjoy!
